Il Maestro dei Fiori Guardeschi (XVIII), Attributed to - Natura Morta

Antique Pair of Still Life Paintings – Master of the Guarded Flowers Important pair of antique paintings from the Venetian school depicting rich floral compositions, attributed to the Master of the Guarded Flowers, an anonymous Italian painter of the 18th century, active in Venice between 1730 and 1760. The works feature scenographic still lifes characterized by sumptuous bouquets of flowers arranged in vases, with roses, tulips and numerous other varieties rendered through an intense and refined palette. The compositions unfold on dark backgrounds, capable of highlighting the reds, pinks, whites, blues and earthy tones of the flowers, creating a suggestive chiaroscuro contrast. The pictorial surface preserves a pronounced craquelure, visible in the photographs and coherent with the antiquity of the works. Both paintings are enhanced by important black and gold wooden frames, richly decorated with vegetal motifs and gold scrolls, as well as an inner carved and gilded band. A pair of great decorative charm and important painting hand, ideal for prestigious settings, collections of antique painting, or historic residences.
