IMPORTANT SHEET-METAL BIPLANE, Germany, CIRCA 1930, JNF (Josef Neuhierl, Fürth) Airplane made of polychrome lithographed sheet metal, with red, yellow, and cream decoration. The fuselage features a passenger cabin with windows, complemented by richly decorated wings and tail. Mechanical model equipped with a clockwork mechanism: the airplane rolls along the ground and the propeller spins. It also features an upper attachment for hanging. Dimensions: approx. 19 x 62 x 60 cm. As is This significant JNF production stands out for its large size and the remarkable quality of its lithography, whose colors and graphics remain exceptionally well-preserved after nearly 90 years. The sheet metal shows very few, if any, visible signs of rust. Founded by Josef Neuhierl in Fürth, JNF was among the renowned German manufacturers of mechanical tin toys, alongside Märklin, Carette, and Bing. The company was particularly known for its large-scale toys, of which this imposing airplane is a fine example.
