Italian school (XVIII) - Giochi di putti

Oil painting on canvas depicting four putti engaged in a bath and play scene near a large tub. The composition, in a baroque taste, features four infant figures in motion, with drapery, vegetal elements and a metal tub. The work stands out for the rendering of volumes, the warm tones of the flesh, and the contrast with the dark background. Unsigned painting, author and dating to be ascertained. Complete with an important decorated gilded frame, with signs of wear and losses in the finish. Overall dimensions with frame: 45.5 × 55 cm. General condition discrete, with craquelure and signs of aging visible on the painted surface, as documented by the photographs. Work sold with frame. “The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and does not form part of the artwork. Any damage to the frame will not be grounds for claims or order cancellations.”
