Lotto 1 Rarity - Complete Set of 7 Postcards "The Seven Days of the Week" - E. Sborgi Firenze - Sale Borgia Vatican - With Original Cover - 1920s - Do Not Travel. Splendid and rare complete set consisting of 7 antique postcards from the prestigious publishing house E. Sborgi of Florence, dating from around the 1920s. The series faithfully reproduces the famous frescoes attributed to the workshop of Raphael Sanzio located in the Borgia Rooms of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican (Rome), depicting the allegories of the seven days of the week. The lot is complete with its original paper editorial cover/custody from the period, a rare item to find intact as it is usually lost or worn over time. The postcards are new and have never traveled (never written, never stamped); the colors and printing details are well preserved with light, natural signs of age in some areas at the bottom (see photographs), they do not show creases, tears, writings, or trimming. Lotto 2 Two historical postcards of monarchic and patriotic propaganda from World War I: "The Children of the Kings of Italy" (Photographic representation of five children of King Vittorio Emanuele III and Queen Elena: Iolanda, Mafalda, Umberto, Giovanna, and Maria). Date: War Year 1915 (with a specific variant dated 11 November 1915), new / not traveled (Never written, without postal stamp, excellent preservation). Description Postcard "To the Soldiers of the Beloved Homeland" (Special Genialoco Edition): Front: Photographic portrait of the five Savoy princes with the dedicatory inscription "To the Soldiers of the Beloved Homeland". Back: Presents the special commemorative engraved crest (in the shape of a medal) with the circular inscription: “11 November 1915 - Genetliac of H.M. the King”, printed on the occasion of Vittorio Emanuele III’s 46th birthday. Postcard "To the Sailors of the Beloved Homeland" (Standard Edition): Front: Same photographic portrait of the royal family, bearing the dedicatory inscription "To the Sailors of the Beloved Homeland". Back: Standard back, white/clean, without the Genetliaco crest (characteristic of the regular edition distributed to the Royal Navy). Lotto 3 This is a rare original fold-out triptych postcard from 1913, issued for commemorative celebrations of the First Centenary of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth (1813–1913). Uncommon format consisting of three panels (or fold-out triptych) side by side. Central Panel: Features the famous portrait of the senile composer, framed between two white swans (a symbol strongly linked to Busseto and the artistic label of the "Swan of Busseto" by which Verdi was nicknamed). At the bottom there is the inscription VERDI 1813 - 1913 and the signature of the company or publisher of the time (TALMAN'S). Side Panels: Along the side bands are graphically depicted, through crowded illustrations of people in period costumes, scenes and protagonists of his most famous operas. At the lower edge, the chronological list of the represented titles is printed (including Attila, Nabucco, Il Corsaro, La Battaglia di Legnano, I Vespri Siciliani, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Alzira, Ernani, Macbeth, Il Trovatore, Don Carlos, Aida, Otello, Falstaff, etc.). Excellent state of preservation. The card shows a very slight, natural bloom of time (the small amber shading), entirely consistent with a card that is more than 110 years old. No writings, abrasions, glue traces, or tears along the two folding hinges. All postcards are present in a front-and-back block, plus a dedicated image of the individual postcard on the front.
