J.&J. Kohn - Chair - Wood - Ready, Kohn

Jacob & Josef Kohn – Antique Viennese Bentwood Chair Elegant antique Jacob & Josef Kohn Viennese chair, made of steam-bent wood and characterized by a refined Viennese design dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The chair features a tall, finely shaped backrest with curved decorative elements that give the structure an elegant and distinctive appearance. Particularly attractive is the round decorated seat, featuring a raised fan/shell ornamental motif. The structure is completed by gracefully curved legs and a circular lower connecting element. The wood retains a beautiful aged antique patina with warm natural tones. An old Jacob & Josef Kohn, Wien paper label is preserved underneath the seat and represents an important identifying element of the manufacturer. Manufacturer: Jacob & Josef Kohn, Vienna Style: Viennese Bentwood / Jugendstil – Historicism Period: late 19th – early 20th century Material: bentwood and shaped wood Dimensions * Height: 90 cm * Width: 42 cm * Depth: 50 cm * Seat height: 48 cm * Seat diameter: 41 cm Condition The chair is in good vintage condition considering its age, with normal signs of age and use. There are scratches, abrasions, small imperfections and wear to the finish, together with natural variations in the antique patina. Small holes compatible with historical woodworm activity are also visible in some areas of the wood. The photographs cannot establish whether any woodworm activity is currently present; preventive treatment may therefore be advisable. A highly decorative and characterful antique piece, suitable for collectors, classic interiors, Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, vintage interiors or as an elegant functional decorative element. The photographs are an integral part of the description and show the actual condition of the item.
