Please consult the original photographs to verify the real condition of the work.” This singular and captivating oil on canvas work sits within a contemporary pop art style with marked touches of magical realism and visual humor, where everyday life is subverted through anthropomorphism. Through a bold, highly colorful palette that contrasts the vibrant blue of the tiles, the intense pink of the walls, and the orange tone of the toilet, the artist portrays an elegant black cat seated in a perfectly human pose while intently flipping through the newspaper. Through this ironic and endearing scene, the author seeks to explore the complicity of domestic life and endow the small intimacies of privacy with almost bourgeois dignity and humorous charm, challenging the seriousness of traditional art with a burst of chromatic energy and a playful atmosphere.
