Jaeger LeCoultre-WW2 Military-Rarissumo-fine anni'30 - Men - 1900-1949

Splendid Jaeger LeCoultre Military Watch in excellent aesthetic and operating condition. This specimen is a marvel of the era's engineering; observe the mechanism which, in my modest opinion, deserves a prominent place in a watch museum. Consider that the mechanism is very small, and it is octagonal, a true nanotechnology mostly assembled by hand; to me it is a genuine jewel. Its exceptional rarity stems largely from the fact that this splendid military piece must have been a transitional watch, I place it between 1937 and 1939. I say so because the dial does not yet bear the Jaeger LeCoultre inscription, but only Jaeger, while the movement is LeCoultre, testifying to the union already formed between the two houses (officially in 1937); but I believe this detail places it in those very early years of collaboration. Keen-eyed enthusiasts will also have noticed the striking similarity to the LeCoultre 'Dirty Dozen' model, another testament that we are certainly in that era. The case, in my opinion, is marvelous—a solid ingot of steel that even after almost 90 years remains in nearly perfect shape. 42 mm lug-to-lug height, while 31 mm side-to-side excluding the crown, as watches of that era typically measured. An extra-rare museum jewel, not to be missed. As far as the function is concerned, the watch runs well but since I have not tested it over the long term, I advise, as a precaution, a cleaning/lubrication to optimize performance.
