Jean Estève-Silly (1912–1978), Catalan painter and sculptor trained at the École Boulle in Paris and former restorer for the museums of France, having carried out the bulk of his career in the capital and regularly exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants between the 1950s and 1960s with a free and spontaneous expression on the margins of formal movements, active until the end of his life in Ille-sur-Têt in the Pyrénées-Orientales (Roussillon), Abstract composition with chromatic and vertical harmonies, oil painting on canvas, dated 1958 and signed on the back, dimensions: height 26 × width 33 cm, in good condition, sold with frame, provenance from the Estève family workshop stock (documentation confirming the Hôtel des Ventes du Mas Guerido available to the buyer), Catawiki insured delivery or on-site pickup.
