This painting presents an imaginative landscape pierced by a row of slender trees whose light-colored trunks rise from the foreground and are cut against a background of hills and vegetal shapes. The viewer enters the scene through the color undulations that cover the lower part, moves between the trunks, and reaches the elevations on the horizon. Nature is not described literally, but organized into large zones of color that transform the landscape into a vibrant and almost fantastic space. The bright yellows of the sky, the violets and crimsons of the vegetation, and the greens and turquoises of the earth create an image full of energy and contrasts. The trunks, in white, gray, and bluish tones, stand out clearly against the darker, saturated forms grouped behind them. Some are thick and occupy the center of the composition, while others, thinner, are distributed on both sides and extend toward the top. Their vertical lines provide structure and rhythm, balancing the curved bands of the terrain. In several spots, small branches and isolated leaves appear, barely hinted, softening the appearance of the trunks and reminding us that they are part of a living forest. The arrangement of the trees allows looking through them and discovering different layers of the landscape. In the background there are forms that evoke masses of trees, bushes, or elevations covered with vegetation. Their irregular contours group into large blocks of purple, pink, dark blue, and red, while some clear and yellow spaces seem to open among them. The chromatic variety adds depth without needing to describe every element in detail: the more intense tones seem to approach, while the clear and soft areas of the horizon create a sense of distance. The undulating lines that traverse the landscape may suggest hills, paths, or bands of vegetation, leaving space for each viewer to imagine the concrete character of the place. The foreground consists of a succession of sinuous bands of color that move from one side of the composition to the other. Red, pink, yellow, brown, violet, blue, and green alternate as if they were folds of a fantastic land, fields seen from above or chromatic currents that run through the landscape. These curved forms contrast with the verticality of the trunks and bring movement to the scene, making the viewer’s gaze wander rather than settle on a single point. The repetition of the waves also connects the different zones of the painting and gives unity to a composition rich in contrasts. Overall, the work transforms a wooded landscape into a colorful and expressive vision, where the light trunks rise before hills and wavy bands of vibrant tones. The combination of verticals and curves, along with the contrast between warm and cold colors, conveys a sense of dynamism and freedom. The yellow sky, the violet masses in the background, and the multicolored earth create a singular atmosphere, situated between recognizable nature and imagination. The scene invites a slow exploration, discovering how each shape and color contributes to building a personal and vital landscape.
