Joseph Beuys (1921-1986) - Signiert Objekt „WACHOLDER“...

Extraordinary object by Joseph Beuys, created in connection with his significant body of work “The Principle of Economic Value.” It is an original paper bag for “WACHOLDER Beeren Ganz” (Juniper Berries Whole) that Beuys transformed into an autonomous art object through his artistic interventions. Signed and with the handwritten designation “1 Wirtschaftswert” in red felt-tip pen With the blue stamp “HAUPTSTROM.” About the work: The packaging, originally intended for everyday use, gains an entirely different meaning through these interventions. What at first appears to be a ordinary consumer product becomes the bearer of an artistic statement about economic values, social structures, and the importance of human creativity. Beuys engaged with his “Principle of Economic Value” intensively since the 1970s, exploring the relationship between art and the economy. He deliberately drew on simple everyday objects, including food packaging, soaps, and other household items. By signing, labeling, or placing these products in a new context, he questioned the conventional distinction between material monetary value and artistic value. Presentation and framing: The signed object is mounted in a custom-made wooden presentation box. The glazing consists of high-quality Optical HC Plexiglass, scratch-resistant and UV-stable. The restrained design of the wooden vitrine emphasizes the authentic character of the work. External dimensions of the frame: approximately 38 × 28 × 3 cm. About the artist: Joseph Beuys (1921–1986) ranks among the most influential and significant artists of postwar international art. As a sculptor, performance artist, and art theorist, he shaped the development of Conceptual Art and expanded the boundaries of traditional artistic expression with his revolutionary understanding of art. His characteristic materials included felt, fat, honey, and ordinary everyday objects, to which he attributed symbolic and societal significance. With his famous maxim “Every human being is an artist,” Beuys argued that creativity is a fundamental human ability. His works have been shown worldwide in major museums and international exhibitions, including multiple appearances at the documenta in Kassel. To this day, Joseph Beuys is considered one of the most influential figures in 20th-century art. PACKAGING & TRANSPORT Shipping is conducted insured and with Track & Trace only.
