A fine Bezalel Jerusalem sterling silver Hanukkah menorah elaborately decorated with repousse and embossed ornament. The architectural backplate is centered by a seven-branched menorah and decorated with foliate, geometric and Judaic motifs, with a domed finial and suspension loop above. Fitted with eight oil fonts and a raised removable shamash to the side, with the fonts resting along the lower gallery. The base is raised on four feet and decorated with scrolling and foliate motifs. The backplate bears a Hebrew inscription translating to "For the commandment is a lamp, and the Torah is light," from Proverbs 6:23. The lower front is inscribed "Bezalel Jerusalem". Stamped verso, "935 STERLING". Total approx. weight is 6.02 troy oz (gross). From a New Rochelle, NY estate. Dimensions: item measures approx. 6.25" w x 2" d x 6.75" h (including feet).
