Jumo - Lamp - 320 - Metal, Bakelite

Stylish lamp designed by Eileen Gray for the French company Jumo in the 1930s. The lamp features a lacquered steel shade with a ribbed edge (banding) and a brown Bakelite pedestal. The base of the lamp has been replaced, presumably in the 1950s, with a dark ruby/brown Bakelite base that fits well with the rest of the lamp. The cord set is presumably replaced along with the base in the 1950s and fitted with a push-button switch and a 220V plug. The lamp features copper-colored and silver-colored accents and a decorative top knob. The condition is good with signs of use and aging appropriate for its age. The lamp is ideal for a desk, a coffee table, or a side table and provides a warm, pleasant light. The original B22 lampholder has been replaced with an E14 fitting.
