Junghans – 16 Jewels – Two-Tone Dial – Mechanical Movement –1950-1959 A characterful vintage Junghans wristwatch from the 1950s, featuring a distinctive two-tone dial and the elegant proportions associated with German watchmaking of the post-war period. The dial immediately stands out through its contrasting design: a warm silver/champagne central section surrounded by a black chapter ring with Arabic numerals at the even hours. Applied gold-tone indexes and matching hands provide an elegant contrast, while the red central seconds hand adds a subtle sporty accent. Story & Heritage Founded in 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, Junghans became one of the most important names in German watch and clock manufacturing. By the first half of the 20th century, the company had developed into a major manufacturer, producing mechanical movements and timepieces recognized for their functional engineering and distinctive design. This watch belongs to the post-war period, when Junghans combined traditional mechanical construction with increasingly expressive dial designs. The contrasting black chapter ring, warm central dial, applied gold-tone markers and red seconds hand are particularly evocative of the aesthetics of the 1950s. Its compact 31 mm case is also typical of men's watches of the era, reflecting the elegant proportions preferred before larger wristwatches became fashionable. With its distinctive two-tone dial and traditional 16-jewel mechanical movement, this Junghans offers an authentic expression of mid-century German watchmaking. A charming vintage piece for collectors of Junghans, German mechanical watches and classic 1950s design. Internal Reference Number - FLO-145
