King & Country - Figure - EA027 “The Dessert Austin K2...

King & Country EA027 “The Dessert Austin K2 Ambulance” This is a model I personally have longed to do for many, many years… The Austin K2 Ambulance. Back in the late 1950’s a great British War movie called “Ice Cold In Alex” came out. I saw it as a kid and loved it. It tells the story of a British Ambulance and its crew trying to escape an embattled Tobrukand cross the desert to Alexandria in Egypt. The film covers lots of their trials and tribulations on the journey… one of which is that there is a German spy among them!!! King & Country EA033 “Gordon Highlander Presenting Arms” Please note: one wheel is broken at the rim – see photos!!!! KING & COUNTRY werd in 1983 in Hong Kong opgericht door twee expat Schotten, Andy C. Neilson en Laura McAllister Johnson. From a humble beginning, KING & COUNTRY has developed into one of the world’s largest designers and producers of fully metal, hand-painted military and civilian miniatures at 1:30 scale. Besides their metal miniatures, the company has also produced an amazing and growing range of scale-model buildings, combat vehicles, ships and airplanes made from a wide selection of wood, metal, polystone, resins and other mixed media. From their headquarters in Hong Kong they oversee every phase of design, development and production on the Chinese mainland. They also participate in trade fairs and collectors’ fairs in Europe, the U.S. and Australia. Their various World War II series include figurines, combat vehicles and buildings that stretch from the D. Day Normandy coasts to the sands of North Africa and all points in between! A recent addition is “Operation Barbarossa,” the German invasion of Russia in June 1941.
