Alla auktioner / Samtida Konst / Kiri Aguilera (1982) - XL - Danza de Pétalos
Kiri Aguilera (born 1982) is a Cuban-born artist, currently based in Spain, whose work is distinguished by a sophisticated visual language where contemporary abstraction, poetic figuration, and gestural expressiveness converge. Trained in professional art schools, her career reveals a solid academic foundation manifested in mastery of drawing, composition, and the spatial construction of the canvas. On this technical structure, the artist has developed a distinctive, deeply recognizable style in which the line takes a leading role as a element of rhythm, tension, and visual narrative. Her acrylic-on-canvas production, entirely handmade, stands out for its vibrant chromatic richness and for the presence of carefully balanced painterly layers. Color, far from merely ornamental, acts as an emotional vehicle that transforms each work into a highly impactful sensory experience. Within her thematic universe, female figures, floral compositions, and stylized animal representations stand out, elements that the artist reinterprets through a language that oscillates between abstract synthesis and suggested figuration. Her large-scale works—typically exceeding 100 cm—are conceived for spaces with strong aesthetic presence, generating a direct relationship with interior architecture and becoming authentic focal points within the environment. The subtleness of the stroke, the elegance of the lines, and the intensity of color give each piece a contemporary visual identity that is highly decorative, without losing conceptual depth or artistic value. Kiri Aguilera’s work is particularly attractive to collectors and lovers of contemporary art seeking original pieces with strong visual presence, impeccable technique, and a distinctive aesthetic. Each canvas conveys a refined sensitivity, where gestural energy coexists with compositional harmony, producing works of great sophistication, ideal for private collections as well as for curatorial spaces and high-end interior design projects. This acrylic-on-canvas work explores figurative botanical art from a contemporary perspective with subtle Art Nouveau nuances. The composition unfolds a dynamic array of stylized flowers and leaves that seem to float over a background of blue-gradated hues, evoking the clarity of the sky or the depth of water. The color palette is defined by the harmonious contrast between warm petal tones—creams, yellows, ochres, and intense reds—and the cool sky and navy blues that articulate the space. Additionally, the presence of fine black contour lines tracing each organic form adds structure and a strong graphic character, achieving an elegant, vibrant, and decoratively rhythmic visual balance.
