Kiri Aguilera (1982) - XL - El Abrazo Cómplice

Kiri Aguilera (1982) is a Cuban-born artist, currently living in Spain, whose work is distinguished by a sophisticated visual language where contemporary abstraction, poetic figuration, and gestural expressiveness converge. Trained in professional art schools, her career reveals a solid academic foundation that manifests in mastery of drawing, composition, and the spatial construction of the canvas. On this technical structure, the artist has developed a distinctive, deeply recognizable style, in which the line plays a leading role as a rhythm, tension, and visual narrative element. Her acrylic-on-canvas production, created entirely by hand, stands out for its vibrant chromatic richness and the presence of carefully balanced painterly layers. Color, far from being merely ornamental, acts as an emotional vehicle that turns each work into a highly impactful sensory experience. Within her thematic universe, the female figure, floral compositions, and the stylized representation of animals stand out, elements that the artist reinterprets through a language that alternates between abstract synthesis and suggested figuration. Her large-format works — typically over 100 cm — are conceived for spaces with a strong aesthetic presence, creating a direct relationship with interior architecture and becoming true focal points within the environment. The delicacy of line, the elegance of strokes, and the intensity of color give each piece a contemporary visual identity that is highly decorative, without losing conceptual depth or artistic value. Kiri Aguilera’s work is especially attractive to collectors and lovers of contemporary art who seek original pieces with strong visual presence, impeccable technique, and a distinctive aesthetic. Each canvas conveys a refined sensibility, where gestural energy coexists with compositional harmony, producing works of great sophistication, ideal for private collections as well as for curatorial spaces and high-end interior design projects. This tender and poetic acrylic-on-canvas composition delves into contemporary figurative neocubism, characterized by a harmonious geometric decomposition of planes, defined black contours, and a warm color palette where cobalt blue and turquoise of the background contrast with ochre gold, warm orange, vermilion, olive green, and neutral tones. The scene portrays the tender embrace of a couple with their eyes closed in a serene contemplative mood, accompanied in the foreground by a stylized bi-colored cat resting between them and a background adorned with geometric flowers, the silhouette of a Mediterranean village, and a radiant ochre sun in the sky. Through this balanced fragmentation and symmetrical integration of the human figure, the animal companion, and the stylized landscape, the artist seeks to express tenderness, unconditional love, domestic peace, and the deep spiritual connection that unites souls in a moment of absolute fullness and calm.
