KLOSSOWSKI (Pierre). Pierre Klossowski. Paris, Galerie Maegh - Lot 22

KLOSSOWSKI (Pierre). Pierre Klossowski. Paris, Galerie Maeght Lelong, n.d. Quarto, paperback, color-illustrated cover, title printed in black. A catalog devoted to the graphic work of Pierre Klossowski (1905–2001), published by Galerie Maeght Lelong as part of the “Repères, cahiers d’art contemporain” series. Illustrated with black-and-white and color reproductions of the artist’s drawings, accompanied by critical essays. A writer, philosopher, and draftsman, Pierre Klossowski developed a unique body of work, dominated by the staging of characters with theatrical poses and by an exploration of the relationships between desire, representation, and transgression. His colored-pencil compositions, often large in format, maintain a close dialogue with his literary work. A good copy, with a few slight signs of wear on the cover.
