la maison Touron - Casket - Walnut, Oak, Brass

This casket was made in Paris between 1830 and 1839 by the prestigious house Touron, royal supplier. Its high-end exterior features superb brass inlays, protective corner brackets, and a custom central monogram. The mechanical structure is very sound, with its hinges and the original stop mechanism perfectly functional. Nevertheless, its major flaw is the complete loss of its original interior arrangement. The fitted compartments, removable trays, and the mirror beneath the lid have disappeared, leaving the oak wood bare. The piece finally shows some wear marks and normal brass oxidation due to time.
