This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The knotting technique and diversity in patterns make this rug a one-of-a-kind piece and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character. It is an excellent used rug with an extremely long lifespan. This is an unused, cleaned rug that can be laid out as is. Mehraban rugs come from the Hamadan region, where these rugs were bought and sold decades ago. Hamadan functioned as a central trading hub for a large surrounding region. Many rugs from this region look alike, with occasional variations in patterns and/or colors. Only the finest carpets from this large region have their own name (and recognizability), such as this Mehraban.
