Lalique - Figure - Moineau - pressed molded glass

Sparrow – Lalique crystal sculpture/Baguier Reference: Marcilhac no. 1155 – Art Deco – Lalique France** Splendid crystal sculpture depicting a sparrow, in a typifiably Art Deco style, signed “Lalique France” on the base, attesting to its authenticity and manufacture by the prestigious Lalique house, founded by René Lalique, master glassmaker, silversmith and great innovator of design in the early 20th century. This model is identified in the catalogue raisonné of René Lalique’s works under reference no. 1149, known under the name “Sparrow Baguier” (historically often presented as a paperweight or ring holder), created around 1929–1930 and reproduced in Félix Marcilhac’s reference work on Lalique crystal. The frosted and polished crystal is highlighted by a delicate sculpture of the small bird, with clean lines and a peaceful posture. Each feather, each transition of material testifies to the technical mastery and artistic sensibility characteristic of Lalique, who knew how to transform crystal into visual poetry. Approximate dimensions: – Height: about 7.5 cm – Width: about 10–11 cm – Depth: about 6–7 cm Condition: very good overall, showing only light superficial micro-scratches on the base, typical of contact with a display case or presentation surface, with no alteration to the beauty or the sculpture. Aesthetic appreciation: An object representative of the Lalique Art Deco spirit, this piece combines naturalistic sensitivity with the formal purity of crystal, making this sparrow a collectible sought after by lovers of French glass art. It is well-suited to a display cabinet or a refined interior, where it will captivate with its elegant simplicity and artisanal quality. Images are part of the description.
