History & Secrets of the Symbol: The Archangel Saint Michael: The Heavenly Guide and Protector His Hebrew name Mikha’ël means “Who is like God?”. Venerated for centuries as the supreme guide and guardian of souls, he is traditionally invoked to preserve inner peace, illuminate decisions, and watch over travelers against the obstacles of the world. The Shield Quis ut Deus: The Seal of Fidelity Graven on the archangel's shield, the Latin phrase Quis ut Deus recalls the spiritual command that makes truth prevail. This emblem serves as a traditional bulwark against doubt, deceit, and hostile intentions, helping to keep a clear and resolute mind. The Nimbus-Crowned Cross: The Victory of Light >The iconography unites the Christian cross with the solar glory of the nimbus, hovering over the controlled shadow beneath the archangel's feet. This composition illustrates the triumph of peace and divine benevolence over chaos, offering reassuring aid in daily life. The Lapis-Lazuli: The Celestial Blue and Clarity of Mind With a royal deep blue reminiscent of the heavens, lapis-lazuli is traditionally associated with the search for truth and the peace of the soul. Its noble presence elevates the purity of Saint Michael’s cross without ever diverting attention away from the protective symbol. The photos were taken under LED lighting with specialized photographic equipment to faithfully reproduce the details, reliefs, and nuances of the object.
