Large White Gold Entourage Ring with Ruby & Diamonds, c. 1980

Most of the ring shapes that are still popular today flourished at the turn of the century around 1900. The Toi-et-Moi ring, the Duchesse ring, the Marquise ring and finally the Entourage ring are among these popular classics. The entourage ring in particular, a ring with a large colored stone in the middle, framed by sparkling diamonds, has never gone out of fashion and has been varied countless times in subsequent generations. This vintage ring follows this classic form and features a bright red ruby in its center. The gemstone, weighing approximately 1.90 ct, shows some natural inclusions as proof of its authenticity, its color is vibrant and radiant. It originates from Thailand. It is framed by 26 brilliant-cut diamonds, which together weigh around 2.60 ct. Unlike most entourage rings, this ring has a double diamond ring. This gives it a very flat and bright appearance. High-carat white gold complements the elegant appearance of the ring in the light. We date the ring to around 1980. An independent appraisal by the German Gemstone Appraisal Society in Idar-Oberstein has confirmed the value of the ring. The ring came to us in West Berlin.
