Alla auktioner / Samtida Konst / Leandro Olano - Doble mirada
Leandro Olano Double gaze, 2026 Oil on canvas 40 × 24 cm Signed Original unique work, entirely handmade Accompanied by the artist's certificate of authenticity Shipped unstretched (rolled for controlled transport) for maximum security in transit The vertical narrow composition faces the viewer with two superimposed gazes: that of a human figure in the upper third and that of a black cat in the lower part. The human face is built through saturated color planes (reds, blues, greens, oranges, and violets) that fragment the anatomy without realistic modeling. The eyes, wide and open, look straight ahead with intensity. Below, the black cat occupies almost half of the lower canvas; its fur absorbs light and is only broken by the yellow-amber, vertical and fixed eyes, and the whiskers that cross the pictorial space. The technique is thick impasto with gestural brushstrokes. The contrast between the aggressive polychromia of the human face and the dark mass of the animal creates a clear tension: two presences that do not look at each other, but look at the viewer simultaneously and insistently. Oil on canvas, 40 × 24 cm, 2026. Vertical narrow format Signature + certificate of authenticity. Unstretched shipment: a practical and correct decision for protection. Contemporary figuration rooted in Expressionist-Fauvist origins. Color does not describe; it imposes. Anatomy is subordinated to chromatic force and material. The cat functions as a dark anchor and as a second protagonist, not as a decorative accessory. There is an evident debt to pure color painting of Fauvism and to a certain contemporary expressive figuration that seeks immediate emotional impact.
