Lee Conklin - Bill Graham Fillmore West San Francisco...

• Artist: Lee Conklin, known for his highly surreal, flowing forms and hidden faces in psychedelic art. • Concert series: The poster carries the official number BG-139 from the famous Fillmore poster series. • Line-up & date: The event took place from October 3–5, 1968 at Fillmore West in San Francisco. In addition to Canned Heat, Gordon Lightfoot and Cold Blood also performed. • Design: The letters of the title seem to sprout like a mushroom-shaped form from a vase or chalice at the lower edge, surrounded by a dense web of flowing lines, faces and bodies in the typical LSD style of the late 60s. Such posters were originally printed as lithographs and are today highly sought-after items on the art and memorabilia market.
