This edition is the revised version of the text from an Amsterdam codex by the editor Peter Lambeck, with a new Latin translation. The work begins with an account of the origins and typography of Byzantium, then describes the public buildings and statues, as well as the construction of Hagia Sophia, before concluding with a brief chronicle from the creation of the world to the sack of Byzantium by the Turks.
