Libyan Desert Glass Tektite - 72 g - (1)

Magnificent and authentic specimen of Libyan desert glass (often called "Libyan Desert Glass"), a natural impact glass formed about 29 million years ago following the impact of a meteorite in the Sahara. It is a coveted collectible both for mineral enthusiasts and impactite aficionados. Type of specimen: Raw Libyan Desert Glass (Impactite) Weight: 72 grams Color: Typical yellow-champagne / translucent cream tint. Condition: Beautiful natural piece featuring superb wind-sculpted forms on the surface. Note for perfect transparency: a small chip or fracture area is visible at the rear of the specimen (clearly visible in the photos), which does not detract from the rarity and raw charm of the piece, but is mentioned for demanding collectors. Ideal for enriching an exceptional minerals or meteorites collection.
