Livio De Marchi (1943) - Holztüte und Holzregenschirm

General description: We offer you the rare opportunity to acquire a remarkable set consisting of two iconic sculptures by the famous Venetian artist Livio De Marchi, who is often referred to as “The Carpenter of Venice” (Il Falegname di Venezia). Worldwide renowned for his Trompe-l’œil genius, De Marchi transforms massive blocks of wood into hyperrealistic everyday objects that challenge the viewer's perception. This lot comprises two of his most famous and sought-after models: a shopping bag that perfectly imitates crumpled paper, and a classic umbrella folded in folds. Both pieces are life-size (1:1) hand-carved and showcase the warm texture of pine wood as well as masterful attention to detail.
