Lodderein box - .833 silver

The antique silver lodering/snuff box is designed in a basket-model with a hinged lid. It features band decorations around with various motifs and a blank heart-shaped shield. The edge of the lid has a braided border and the lower edge is fluted. The snuff box has two ears on the sides with a jasseron chain so it can be worn on a chatelaine. Silver hallmarks: walking lion (second-grade silver, 833/1000) - Minerva head M Schoonhoven - year letter - master silversmith mark G.28 (D.H. Greup. Schoonhoven. 1837/1864). Sizes: height 4.5 cm - width 4.5 cm with a weight of 23 grams. Condition: in good condition with normal wear/age-related marks - see photos (these are part of the description and condition).
