Luigi Costa (XX-XXI) - Tulipani in veste di seta

L. Costa — “Tulipani in veste di seta” Painting on canvas, 40 × 30 cm A bouquet of tulips occupies almost the entire composition, asserting itself with the elegance of the shapes and the richness of the shading. The petals, ranging from pale pink to purple and wine red, open and fold in an intertwining of soft curves. The fine light stripes follow their structure, giving the flowers a visual texture similar to a silken fabric. A tulip in red-orange tones introduces, on the left, a particularly warm color variation. The elongated leaves traverse the bouquet with bright greens and deep shadows, balancing the softness of the petals. Some small droplets on the right leaf add a note of freshness. The rounded vase, characterized by golden, brown and gray reflections, supports the composition and gathers its light. In the background, the petrol-green and dark backdrop enhances the volume of the flowers. The work interprets the floral still life through a careful description of surfaces, transforming the bouquet into an elegant and enveloping presence.
