Of all gemstones, the deep blue sapphire in particular has been ascribed various mythical qualities over the centuries. In the Middle Ages, bishops wore this stone as a ring because they believed it warded off cunning and deceit and protected its wearer from feeling envy. In his natural history of gemstones, Della storia naturale della cameo, Giacinto Gimma wrote in Naples in 1730 that its blue color stood for Venus and the study of celestial bodies and stars. This ring is also reminiscent of a starry night. The wonderful blue sapphires, three in number, shimmer in a row across the phalanx of the finger. They are surrounded by 16 brilliant-cut diamonds that twinkle and sparkle like stars in the night sky. They surround the sapphires and enhance their colourfulness with their fine white colour. The gemstones are set in high-carat white gold so that the ring shines completely in the colours of the night. The stones are lifted slightly by a gallery of fine rods, allowing plenty of light to reach them. The beautiful ring with its luxurious materials has been very well preserved and is ready to be worn day and night. Its design and workmanship suggest that it was created around 1970.
