Magnetite Rough - Height: 11 cm - Width: 10 cm- 1125 g - (1)

Example of Magnetite with Talc - Brosso Mine, Val Chiusella, Turin, Piedmont - Historic Mineral for Collection Product description: We are selling an extraordinary and classic mineralogical specimen from the renowned and historic Brosso Mine, located in Val Chiusella within the Ivrea district (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont). This site is internationally renowned for its iron-bearing skarn deposits and for the iconic quality of its mineral samples. The piece shows a rich aggregate of magnetite crystals developing within a contrasting matrix. The magnetite crystals display well-defined octahedral geometric shapes and sharp edges, characterized by an intense ferrous-black color and a pronounced sub-metallic luster on the faces. Surrounding and providing a perfect chromatic and textural contrast to the dark crystals is a soft, pure white, compact talc matrix. The aesthetic combination between the geometric rigidity of the black magnetite and the light, velvety talc matrix makes this specimen a perfect display piece, as well as a historical testimony to one of the most important mining localities in the Western Alps. Technical details and provenance: • Primary mineral: Magnetite (magnetic iron oxide) • Associated mineral: Talc • Locality: Brosso Mine, Val Chiusella, Ivrea, Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont, Italy
