Mantel clock - Lancaster - Wood, Brass - 1950-1960

Lancaster mantel clock, Great Britain, 1950s–1960s An elegant mid-20th-century Lancaster mantel clock, crafted in a classic British style and featuring a signature pendulum movement with the rare engraving "Lancaster for all time." Such movements are significantly rarer than standard German or French OEM mechanisms, making this model particularly appealing to collectors of English clocks. The movement is mounted on a finely finished brass plate; it displays the gear and lever architecture characteristic of British workshops and includes a striking mechanism (sounding on the hour and half-hour). The pendulum and suspension spring are original and free of corrosion—visually, the mechanism is remarkably well-preserved. The case is crafted from solid wood with a rich, reddish-brown hue. Its "Napoleon hat" shape is one of the most recognizable silhouettes among mid-century English mantel clocks. Decorative side carvings highlight the piece's handcrafted quality, while the dial—featuring Roman numerals and gold-toned hands—creates a harmonious contrast with the brass movement. The case is in good condition, free of major defects. This clock serves as both a stylish, rare interior piece and a valuable collector's item, thanks to its original Lancaster movement. A perfect addition for collectors, lovers of fine mechanical craftsmanship — an elegant example of clockmaking.
