Marcel Mendez - Módulos Humanos 24 -XL- ( No reserve )

Human Modules #24 Series: Human Modules | Original work | 2026 Description of the work In this painting I explore the relationship between the human body, movement and geometry through three female figures that intertwine in a composition full of rhythm and harmony. The silhouettes appear in different positions, creating a play of curves, spaces and forms that seem to flow into one another. The bodies overlap and connect visually, giving rise to a composition where it is hard to tell where one figure ends and the next begins. The color palette is composed of warm and soft tones: pinks, corals, oranges, terracotta, burgundy and beige. These colors convey closeness, sensitivity and a sense of calm, while the contrasts between the figures add depth and dynamism. The circular shapes that surround the characters reinforce the sense of continuity and movement. They function as elements that connect the figures and maintain the balance of the whole composition. I am interested in representing the human body from a simple and abstract perspective, removing unnecessary details to focus on the gesture, posture and the relationship between the forms. In this work I seek to convey a feeling of freedom, complicity and connection, letting each viewer find their own interpretation of the figures and of the relationship that exists between them. Style and technique The work is painted in acrylic on canvas, using a language of contemporary figurative abstraction, with influences from geometric art and the hard-edge style. The composition is built with large flat color surfaces, defined contours and curved lines that provide fluency and movement. The contrast between geometry and the organic shapes of the human body creates a balance between structure, sensitivity and expression. Artwork series: Human Modules Human Modules is an artistic series in which I explore the possibilities of representing the human body through geometric shapes, simplified silhouettes and abstract compositions. In this series I am especially interested in the relationship between bodies, the spaces they share and the emotions they can transmit without the need to show facial details. Each work functions as a small visual construction, where the human figures become color modules that join, cross and complement each other. Through these compositions I seek to create images that convey movement, balance and sensitivity, maintaining a simple and recognizable painterly language. Human Modules #24 continues this investigation, bringing together three female figures in a composition that evokes freedom, connection and harmony.
