We present the Marlen 1600° Venezia Collection In 2021, the 1600th anniversary of the founding of the city of Venice is celebrated, when at Rivus Altus (Rialto) began the construction of a church, the current San Giacometto. Marlen celebrates the occasion with this particular limited edition, devoted to the event. A tribute to 1600 years of history of a city where citizens of the world are welcome, a city open to meeting and cultural exchange in which people, cultures and faiths even deeply different from one another have met and shared common paths while respecting their identities, highlighting the city’s role as a bridge between different cultures, unique in its cultural and landscape heritage. Hood: the top of the hood is in silver or silver vermeil depending on the version, with the official logo of the 1600 years of Venice engraved, while the texture echoes that of the Doge’s Palace in Piazza San Marco. A series of rings in silver and Italian resin in various colors separate two wooden bands. The hood is closed by a ring in silver with the engraving 1600° Venezia. Clip: the clip in 925 silver (or silver vermeil) was designed and made as the profile of a gondola. Body: the large silver band (or silver vermeil) that depicts in high/low relief a part of the facade of the Doge’s Palace in Piazza San Marco characterizes the body of the pen. The knob that hides the piston filling is in red Italian resin, mother-of-pearl effect, on which a silver (or silver vermeil) coin is set with high/low relief of the winged lion, symbol of Venice. The screw thread in tarnished or gilded brass that allows easy fixing of the hood is connected to a series of rings in Italian resin of various colors. A ring in silver (or silver vermeil) bearing “anno domini cdxxi - mmxxi,” closed between two wooden rings and the silver (or silver vermeil) tip, completes the shaft.
