Marlen - Christ the Redeemer - Edizione limitata di 77...

The origin of the idea of the Seven Wonders dates back to Herodotus (484-425 B.C.) and Callimachus (305-240 B.C.), who made a list that included the Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Only the Pyramid of Giza is still standing, while the other 6 have been destroyed by earthquakes, fires, or other causes. The “New7Wonders of the World” is a project organized by the private foundation New7Wonders, to recreate a “Global Memory,” that is, seven things that everyone in the world can remember and share. For each of these places, Marlen has created a pen in a very limited edition and a complete set of all Seven Wonders (limited edition of 38 pieces - fountain pens, and 28 pieces - roller balls). This collection is a tribute to Christ the Redeemer, a Deco-style statue representing Jesus of Nazareth that stands in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, perched on the top of Corcovado Mountain. Made with precious materials such as resin and celluloid. The design is distinguished by a wide silver band on the barrel, depicting a striking view of the statue. Furthermore, on the silver ring of the cap are engraved the seven new wonders of the world, making each piece a true tribute to art and history.
