Marlen - The Great Wall - Edizione limitata di 77 esemplari in Resina italiana

The origin of the idea of the Seven Wonders goes back to Herodotus (484-425 B.C.) and Callimachus (305-240 B.C.), who drew up a list that included the Pyramids of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Only the Pyramids of Giza remain standing, while the other six have been destroyed by earthquakes, fires, or other causes. The “New Seven Wonders of the World” is a project organized by the private foundation New7Wonders, to recreate a “Global Memory,” i.e., seven things that everyone in the world can remember and share. For each of these places, Marlen has created a pen in a very limited edition and a complete set of all Seven Wonders (in a limited edition of 38 pieces – fountain pens, and 28 pieces – roller pens). This collection is a tribute to the Great Wall of China, a very long series of walls located in present-day China. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and included in 2007 among the modern seven wonders of the world. Made with precious materials such as resin and celluloid, the design stands out for a wide silver band on the body, which depicts a striking view of it. Moreover, on the silver ring of the cap, the seven new wonders of the world are engraved, making each piece a true tribute to art and history.
