To evaluate the work, scroll through the details Broken Wall Broken Wall arises from Mart Signed’s exploration of the relationship between street art, matter, and urban memory. The project brings an fragment of the language of the street inside houses, galleries, and private collections, transforming a surface marked by time into a contemporary artwork. The wall is not only the support of the image, but becomes an integral part of the work. Its surface, the cracks, the traces of time, and the natural characteristics of the material preserve the link with the urban context from which street art originates. The fracture thus becomes an element of the artistic language: the boundary between the street and the exhibition space is broken and the urban fragment finds a new placement. The work The work does not demand an answer, but leaves each observer free to find their own interpretation. The stencil is created directly on the support: it is not a print or reproduction. The work depicted in the photographs is exactly the one that will be received by the collector. Materials and authenticity Materials recovered from the street are chosen to maintain a living connection with the original street art language. Marks, abrasions, surface variations, irregularities, and natural imperfections are not defects, but elements that belong to the material’s history and to the artwork’s identity. These characteristics are intentionally preserved and integrated into the creative process. The work is signed, accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, and delivered ready to hang. Over the years, Mart Signed has developed an international presence through collaborations and relations with different entities in the art world. His research connects street art, urban memory, recovered materials, and the transformation of space. The shape of the support, the crack, the surface, the marks, the imperfections, and the material characteristics naturally vary from one piece to another, making each piece unrepeatable. The 20 works share the same artistic project and the same conceptual core, but each maintains its own physical and visual identity. Therefore, they are not 20 copies or reproductions of the same work, but 20 unique and different pieces, all belonging to the Broken Wall series. Each work is identified by a specific code listed on the certificate of authenticity.
