Mask - Baule - Côte d'Ivoire (No reserve price)

The Baoulé masks are known in African art for the finesse of their features, a mouth projecting forward, and half-closed eyes. Decorative mask The top of the mask is crowned with a headdress decorated with imposing braids. The Baoulé live in the southeast of Ivory Coast. They are part of the Akan group. One can note that their handicraft is not intimidating. The living conditions of the Baoulé are certainly among the best in the country, and this is read in their serene masks and their sophisticated statuary. Beautiful decorative piece
