This object appears to be a four-faced ngontang-type mask-helmet from the Fang culture in Gabon. Key features Faces: The cylindrical body carved from wood presents stylized feminine features, with two large faces and two smaller ones. Colors: Kaolin (white clay) covers the faces, symbolizing the spirits of the ancestors, highlighted with black paint. Ornament: The headdress is topped with dark feathers and a substantial skirt of raffia fibers at the base.
