Series STRATA — LIMITS IN SUSPENSE Description of the work On a dark and shifting territory, the painting keeps its forms at the edge of recognition. Large expanses of muted greens, earth tones and smoky hues appear crossed by clear, irregular lines. A small white shape emerges at the top, while a yellow element and a deep green rectangle interrupt the continuity of the chromatic fields. The composition explores the relationships between space, matter and perception. Its fragmented horizons and imperfect boundaries suggest a territory that remains open to different interpretations, where distances and small presences modify the perception of the whole. This work belongs to STRATA, a series developed after years of pictorial research on the construction of space, material superimpositions, and the relationships between surface and depth. In this series, I work with glazes, incisions, accumulations of matter, and structural divisions that allow for the construction of visual territories without resorting to the conventional representation of landscape. I am especially interested in how a form can remain isolated and, nevertheless, transform everything that surrounds it. I do not aim for these elements to describe a concrete journey or for their relationships to end up resolving in a recognizable figure. Sometimes a minimal distance between two elements is enough to alter the meaning of an entire territory. Condition and shipping The work is in excellent condition, with no damage or restorations. It is shipped unframed and unmatted, carefully rolled and protected inside a sturdy tube, prepared to ensure its safety during international transport. About the artist Maurizio Valch is a contemporary visual artist and writer, trained in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. His artistic career has developed in Europe and the Americas, combining pictorial research with his own expressive and conceptual pursuit. Over the years, he has developed a recognizable visual language through interconnected series that explore the relationships between space, matter, perception and psychological experience. His paintings combine layered surfaces, incisions, atmospheric horizons, and contained geometric elements to build visual territories that transcend conventional landscape representation. His career includes exhibitions at the Real Cercle Artístic de Barcelona (Real Círculo Artístico), as well as artistic involvement linked to the Gran Teatre del Liceu (Ópera de Barcelona). His artistic activity spans Europe and the Americas, including Barcelona and Miami. His works are part of private collections in 19 countries, reflecting the international reach of his production.
