Fascinating Italian advertising manifesto dedicated to Eucrinina, historic hair lotion produced by Laboratorio G. Cavina of Bologna. Note well: This is a later edition probably from the 1970s. The manifesto reprises the famous composition created in 1921 by Achille Lucien Mauzan, one of the leading figures of European poster art in the twentieth century. The scene is dominated by the elegant face of a woman, framed by a spectacular and very voluminous golden hairstyle. The curls transform into sinuous ornamental motifs, creating an ironic, refined image that is immediately recognizable. The black background enhances the gold tones and the large red lettering “EUCRININA”. At the bottom there are the inscriptions “Lozione per capelli”, “formula Dott. Prof. Giov. Pini” and “Lab. G. Cavina – Bologna”. The graphic layout blends Liberty and Art Nouveau taste with the early influences of Art Déco, with the author’s characteristic fantastical and theatrical language.
