An interesting medieval annular buckle, featuring a broad circular frame and a long, movable pin. The frame displays a series of small notches and irregular decorative markings along its outer edge, creating a distinctive textured appearance. The elongated pin is secured to the frame by a folded loop and extends beyond the opposite side. The reverse reveals the simple and functional construction of this fastening device. The surface displays an attractive green and dark brown patina, with visible encrustations and signs of age and wear. Annular buckles were widely used throughout medieval Europe as practical fastening devices for belts and garments.
