LIMITED EDITION - NUMBERED TO 20 In this square format, Medsan frames the face of a young woman as close as possible, from the eyebrow to the corner of the lips. She gazes to the left, the eyelid lowered, the green-and-gold eye outlined with a red line that rises toward the temple. A tear departs from the inner corner of the eye, slides down the cheek, and rounds into a broad drop at the middle of the face. Within that drop lives an entire basin: water green and blue, a white water lily with a yellow center, and an orange-and-white koi that descends toward the bottom of the tear, with fins spread. To the right, a red camellia with a golden center leans against black hair, surrounded by dark green leaves. Pale pink petals detach and rest on the cheek. The background remains light, between off-white and pinkish gray. The whole weight of the scene rests in what that tear carries.
