MEXICO. Mint Sport -- Triple Struck on Scrap Sheet -- Silver 100000

MEXICO. Mint Sport -- Triple Struck on Scrap Sheet -- Silver 100000 Pesos Pattern, 1990-Mo. Mexican (San Luis Potosi) Mint. PCGS MS-65. cf. KM-Pn245 (For type struck in bronze); cf. PL-91A (For type). A highly interesting issue, struck on what appears to be pure silver planchet stock, exhibiting sharply struck frosty devices and hard mirrored fields. The surfaces display lovely rich mottled patina with iridescent hues adding to its pleasing appearance. The first two strikes were done in succession with a dramatic shift, while the third is a flip-over strike with a nearly complete rendering of the designs. Clearly struck with official dies, but in an unofficial capacity that is still an intriguing piece and is sure to add depth to the next collection of Modern Mexican that it enters. Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
