Mighty Jaxx - Toy figurine Dissected Popek – Yellow...

Step into one of the most iconic collaborations in the designer toy world with this Dissected Popek – Yellow Edition, created by Whatshisname, the London-based artist behind the cheeky “Popek” balloon dog, and Jason Freeny, the New York artist world-famous for his anatomical “dissections” of pop culture icons. Released by Mighty Jaxx in February 2020, the Yellow Edition was one of the earliest colourways of the Dissected Popek and remains one of the most sought-after, combining Whatshisname’s irreverent take on the balloon dog with Freeny’s signature half-anatomy style. The figure shows the Popek balloon dog in its famous squatting pose. One side is perfectly smooth and “inflated”, finished in a bright glossy yellow that captures the stretched, light-catching surface of a real balloon. The other side is sliced open to reveal a meticulously sculpted skeleton in soft cream, framed by a dark interior cross-section. Every detail is there, from the jagged teeth and skull to the spine, ribcage, pelvis and leg joints. From one side it is a classic balloon dog; from the other, the illusion is broken in the most striking way. The little yellow balloon “Popek” piece, the signature joke of the series, completes the scene. This is an official Mighty Jaxx Originals release and comes as a complete set, with the original yellow foil-printed box, the Mighty Jaxx Certificate of Authenticity (black and gold), the care card, and the “Authenticate & Register your Mighty Jaxx product” card. The figure has been displayed indoors, handled with care, and shows no chips, scratches or paint defects. The box is in very good condition. A standout piece for any designer toy collector, balloon dog fan, or admirer of Jason Freeny’s anatomical art.
