Minton Bicentenary Porcelain Paris Exhibition Reproduction Vase

Minton English fine bone china bicentenary reproduction amphora vase after a design by John Moyr Smith for the 1878 Paris Exhibition. The twin-handled vessel features an aesthetic style frieze of hand-painted neoclassical female figures carrying musical instruments and flowers against a gilded ground. Elaborate borders of raised 22 karat gilding and polychrome enamels in geometric and foliate motifs decorate the neck, shoulders, and foot. The frieze is signed in brown script W. R. Tipton. The underside of the foot bears a printed gold mark reading Minton Bicentenary 1793-1993 with a descriptive text detailing the facsimile reproduction from original Minton archive drawings, along with a copyright mark for 1992 Royal Doulton. The vase is supported by a separate hexagonal plinth base featuring an inset porcelain plaque with matching commemorative text. Dimensions: 10.25"W x 20.5"H Weight: 13.44 lbs Condition Request Condition Report Good.
