The interior of the base is finished with a bright turquoise glaze. The removable internal liner is plain cream-colored glazed earthenware. The cover is dramatically modeled depicting a dense arrangement of dead game, including a hare, a mallard duck, and other fowl resting on foliage, with a branch serving as the handle.
