Mirror- Modernist - Brass - Pink Design

This singular mid‑20th‑century mirror stands out for a modernist aesthetic of great sculptural force, where the geometric purity of the circle combines with a refined chromatic sensibility. The piece features a convex glass tinted in a delicate pink‑salmon hue, a relatively uncommon characteristic that transforms the mirror’s usual function into a warmer, more atmospheric visual experience. The curved surface yields softly distorted reflections, creating a sense of depth and dynamism that changes with light and the viewing angle. The frame, with a pronounced bulging profile and a gold finish, wraps the mirror like a metallic halo, providing contrast and highlighting the pinkish tone of the glass. Its sober yet impactful design responds to the decorative principles of modernity in the 1950s and 1960s, when the combination of shiny materials, organic forms, and soft colors aimed to introduce elegance and optimism into contemporary interiors. The small upper ring integrated into the design recalls certain decorative models inspired by portholes and accent mirrors used in nautical or cosmopolitan environments of the era. Beyond its practical function, this piece acts as an autonomous decorative object, capable of providing a sophisticated focal point to any room. Its combination of warm gold and pink glass produces a delicately glamorous presence, close to Hollywood Regency aesthetics and postwar modernist design, especially appealing in eclectic, vintage, or contemporary interiors where one seeks to incorporate a singular and refined element.
