Alla auktioner / Mattor & Textilier / Modern Afghan Kilims - Carpet - 200 cm - 140 cm - Orient Kelim
Afghan Kilim Rugs – woven stories from the Orient Afghan Kilim carpets are far more than just floor coverings – they are living testimonies of centuries-old craftsmanship and expressions of deep cultural roots. With their clear geometric patterns and vibrant colors, they tell stories from the vastness of Central Asia and carry the soul of nomadic peoples within them. Each Kilim is made in traditional flat-weave technique, where the wool is artfully interlaced without a pile forming. This makes Kilims appear especially light, sturdy, and usable on both sides. Typical are rich reds, blues, and earth tones, dyed with natural colors from plants, roots, or minerals. No piece is alike – each rug is a unique creation in which the imagination and the memories of the weavers reflect themselves. Afghan Kilims uniquely combine primitiveness with timeless beauty. They fit wonderfully with modern, minimalist interiors, but also bring warmth and character to classical rooms. Whether as a rug, wall hanging, or decorative element – a Kilim instantly creates a sense of security and authenticity. Owning an Afghan Kilim means holding a piece of living tradition: a work of art that endures for generations, preserves values, and fills every home with a special atmosphere.
