A highly collectible Montblanc Patron of Art fountain pen from 1996, created in honour of Semiramis, the legendary queen associated with ancient Mesopotamia and Babylon. This rare 888 Limited Edition is the prestigious solid-gold version of the model, produced in a strictly limited run of only 888 pieces worldwide. The barrel and cap feature an elaborate 18K solid gold filigree construction, combining black and gold elements with decorative patterns inspired by ancient Mesopotamian and Babylonian art. The intricate openwork gives the pen a distinctive architectural appearance. The clip is decorated with the symbolic animal associated with the goddess Ishtar and set with a natural diamond of approximately 0.20 ct. The fountain pen is fitted with an 18K gold nib featuring engraved decorative details and the individual limited-edition number. This 888 edition is considerably rarer than the larger 4,810-piece version and is particularly sought after by collectors of early Montblanc Patron of Art editions.
